The International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP), the Latin American Association of Medical Physics (ALFIM) and the Brazilian Association of Medical Physics (ABFM) invite you to attend the 18th International Conference on Medical Physics: Science and Technology for Health for All - ICMP 2011.

2011 will be held in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil, from April 17 - 20, 2011, hosted by the Physics School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS).

Two joint events are planned to be held during 2011, with selected overlapping sessions: the XVI Brazilian Congress of Medical Physics (XVI CBFM) and the V Instrumentation and Medical Imaging Symposium (V SIIM), both traditional Brazilian events with medical physicists, physicians and biomedical engineers.

The mission of ICMP 2011 is to consolidate the efforts of medical physicists and scientists working in hospitals, clinics, research and education institutions and companies from different countries for solving health care problems related with radiation therapy, diagnostics, imaging, radiation detection, medical and technological information and radiation protection.

  • To present the latest researches, developments and scientific discussions in various fields of medical physics.
  • To promote talks and sessions by recognized experts in medical physics.
  • To develop the interaction among universities, research, medical and industrial centers through scientific sessions and educational/professional workshops, courses, and exhibition.
  • To show latest achievement in medical physics.
  • Brachytherapy
  • External Beam Radiotherapy
  • Lasers, Biomagnetism and Non-Ionizing Technologies
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy
  • Medical Physics Education
  • Nanotechnology for Biomedical Applications
  • Networking and IT
  • Nuclear Medicine Imaging and Therapy
  • Optical and Molecular Imaging
  • Physiological and Biomedical Modelling
  • Radiation Biology and Radiation Protection
  • Radiation Dosimetry: Algorithms, instrumentation and protocols
